Noople Noodle & Dumpling House

Noople Noodle & Dumpling House is at the same location as Sea House Fish & Chips, and the same owners as Sea House are actually in the kitchen still making their fish and chips.

According to the new owner (who hopes to make Noople Noodle into a franchise), they are still in "soft launch" and very open to feedback. Therefore expect tweaks to continue happening.

Standout features include under-$10 mains (e.g., Dan Dan noodles) and value for money with a filling amount of food, such as the Chicken Nugget and XiaoLongBao combo for $17.99).

Signature Fish and Chips (2 piece, $12.50)
  • Nothing wrong here. Crispy on the outside, didn't feel oily, tender and juicy fillet.
  • My friend's order. He felt it was decent but not the best he's ever had. Still, a safe order at an okay price.
Dan Dan Noodle ($7.99)
  • Not sure what I was expecting here. I totally confused them with Kingyo's superb Tan Tan noodles so I think I gave the owner incorrect feedback here. Oops.
  • The noodles sat on top of the sauce and once mixed the sauce did cling to the noodles very clearly and it wasn't a skimpy amount, but the sauce and condiments on top did not combine into flavor for unclear reasons. Mostly I tasted noodle here.
  • They may start tweaking this sauce to make this better than it is. Currently, even at the price point, it's just flavourful enough to be on the menu.
Salty & Pepper Chicken Nuggets (normally $9.99?)
  • Tender, juicy, and not oily when they were served.
  • I was so pleased by how juicy this was that I forgot they were supposed to also be salty and peppery, which they weren't. Points off for that, unfortunately. But price point was good and as deep fried chicken goes, it was really decent.
XiaoLongBao (normally $9.99?)
  • Decently done, soup is inside as expected, tastes good.
  • Slightly smaller than some of the ones you can get at Crystal Mall, but the last time I had some there, they were soggy, the soup poured out, and my friends got diarrhea.
non-alcoholic Pineapple Beer ($2.99)
  • Hard pass on this. Tasted like watered down pineapple juice with light fizz. Way overpriced for what it is although it's not excessively sweet compared to more commonly availble carbonated drinks.
Space is bright, spacious, and clean. Counter service, no waitstaff, and tipping not required but appreciated.

Trafalgar's European Explorer 2006 memoirs part 3

A picture from my 2006 trip, a Trafalgar 's bus tour, on an itinerary called the European Explorer. I can't remember why I had this couple in the picture, but I do vaguely remember this to be in London, on the first official day of the tour group getting together. Their insistence on my helping them take a picture caused the three of us to be late getting back to the bus. The local tour guide had a "rule" about lateness, that we had to buy chocolate to share with everyone. As it turned out, later in the trip, on at least two occasions, we were stuck on the highway on either a long commute or a traffic jam, and I had chocolate and chocolate-covered marzipan to share. About the chocolate-covered marzipan -- Apparently we were in Austria just as they were celebrating Mozart's birthday with special marzipans wrapped in foil with the famous composer's picture. I'm pretty sure it was Mirabell Mozartkugeln . Anyway, there were enough to go around the en...

ChatGPT Can Deliberately Lie to You. Yes, I have screenshots.

I was really shocked to discover that ChatGPT-4o "Plus" Plan can deliberately lie to you. Not just accidentally process data badly and come up with a bad conclusion. But lie to you because of: "Conversational Coherence" "Politeness Bias" "byproduct of how I'm designed to maintain conversation continuity, coherence, and repair" "create a false narrative to cover a logic failure" I've got screenshots but will provide the full transcript/context of the incident below. You can draw your own conclusions. The quoted items above are verbatim from ChatGPT's responses, so you can search to quickly go to the relevant sections if you prefer. NOTE: In the transcript below, I have put in RED selected text which I highlighted for ChatGPT to specifically address.

Trafalgar's European Explorer 2006 memoirs part 10

The last of my pictures (at least the ones that survived the cheesy disposable cameras) from my 2006 trip, a Trafalgar 's bus tour, on an itinerary called the European Explorer. Below is the obligatory group photo. Not sure everyone's in it, actually. I'm pretty sure this one was taken by the tour director, Mike Scrimshire as I'm in the back row, on the right side.
