Disco Cheetah (Davie)

Disco Cheetah Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato Due to Covid I hadn't gone out at all, until my friend invited me to try Disco Cheetah -- her treat too since it was for my birthday, which was a lovely surprise! Which also means I didn't pay for the food but then neither did the restaurant so I guess it's all good.

We were curious about the various things so ended up getting the "Disco Cheetah Sampler" which sounds like it has a lot of stuff, but really it's two things -- deep fried chicken and falafel. The rest is filler text. I'm really tempted to fail them outright because they tried to advertise "scallion" as a significant component of the sampler plate. And no, it wasn't a significant component of the sampler plate.

Disco Cheetah Sampler ($29.99) fried chicken bites x5 pieces, whole chicken wings x3 pieces, falafel bites x5 pieces, fries, dipping sauces
  • Also comes with a selection if dipping sauces and some pickled red radish. I'll allow a mention of the dipping sauces since they weren't just "soy sauce" or "ketchup" but I think it's lame they bothered to put down pickled red radish and scallion.
  • Where's my scallion?
  • Falafel was strangely bland. Maybe kitchen error this time but maybe ask before you order something with it as a main feature. Apparently vegan and gluten free.
  • The fried chicken bites were pretty decent especially considering they survived about a 10 minute walk back to home back. Juicy on the inside. But overwise, nothing really special here.
  • The fried chicken wings were suspicious. The coating fell off to reveal a strangely dark skin on the chicken, and it was definitely more try than the bites. Again, maybe kitchen error but if you had to choose, go with the boneless bites. Definitely more convenient anyway.
  • The selection of sauces was actually really decent. and gave more meaning to the fries since you can break the monotony by trying and combining different sauces.
  • Really decently done fries. They might have been even better if they were more crispy on the outside, but we did to the takeout option and sitting in a covered takeout box can definitely reduce quality.
  • Apparently the fries are vegan and gluten-free too.
  • Price for portion (especially considering the downtown Davie location) is surprisingly decent. Definitely a meal for two there, or a lighter meal for three.
Overall, I felt Disco Cheetah offered fair to good value but is nothing special. If you are vegan and/or gluten free, definitely check them out if only to see what's available for your restrictive diet.
