Living Basics laptop desk

I was looking for a fairly portable "desk" for working on my laptop that was cheap, so I shopped AliExpress and Walmart online (both of which qualify for rebates through MyPoints ). Normally AliExpress (which can take over a month to mail Canada) has cheaper prices but this time Walmart came through with a comparable price. This desk by Living Basics is basically a desk for your laptop that also sits / goes over your laptop . Overall, not recommended but sometimes beggars can't be choosers, especially when it comes to price. Here are some observations: The tray is metallic, but the legs are NOT. They are plastic and not very stable. Left to stand on their own, they cause the desk to jiggle with every keystroke. I would have preferred much more solid legs instead of a metallic table. The table itself isn't the load bearing part of the desk and didn't really need to be metallic. Neither did the optional mousepad. The legs feel wobbly and weak, so I wouldn't ac...

MyPoints - An online work-for-pay site that actually pays

As you can see from the first slide,  MyPoints  is still paying out. I've been with them many years, and could have made more if I really focussed, but sometimes I get busy so I just do a little bit each day, like answering a simple poll or quickly going to a website. They don't monopolize your time or demand attention every hour. But if you're looking for "points website" or "easy work online" or to "get paid doing surveys", then first you have to set your expectations correctly. It's definitely not a "get rich quick" scheme. If you spend money at a reputable online merchant (e.g., Best Buy, Walmart), chances are it's on their list of affiliates and they can get you a rebate. That is the surest way to "earn money" -- by basically saving money. There is no magic money that appears out of thin air -- not for you and not for the points site so they can pay you. They cannot retroactively get you a rebate. You must go t...
