Cauliflower Steak ($22) Stewed Lentils, Romesco Sauce, Crispy Kale (V)
- Looked really promising at first, but it just tedious later. The orange-red sauce was pretty tasty though. Could have used much more of it.
- The cauliflower chunk was pretty plain and very firm at the base of the stem.
- The slight browning looked promising but there wasn't really any aroma or flavour from it.
- Crispy kale deep fried and obviously you can't get away from the oiliness. Fun to eat but eat it with the cauliflower to mask the oil.
- A lot less sauce to use than it looks because there isn't as much underneath and I basically ran out. And there were tons more lentils to make things more tedious.
- Overall, interesting idea but not really that tasty. More sauce would have helped but less than halfway through and I was already tired of eating it.
- Large portion, but for what it is, feels overpriced.

Gnocchi ($14) Fried Quail Egg, Pecorino, Black Peppercorn (V)
- Not my order so I only tried a bit of this.
- Very peppery!
- Gnocchi bits very tender, almost like mashed potato. Interesting for not being the usual firm bites.

Lobster Mushroom Chowder ($10 special of the day) lobster mushrooms, bacon.
- I think larger chunks of the lobster mushroom would have made it look like lobster tail (or take a large chunk, shape it and score it into a tail?) but the colour is fairly good and my dining companion was impressed by the lobster-ness.
- Nice touch with the dill.
- Overall a decent chowder except it was I think too salty, masking any richness that may have been there.
- Price OK to good for $10.
- Sadly this had bacon. Otherwise I think it would have made for a lovely vegetarian soup.
