Noople Noodle & Dumpling House is at the same location as Sea House Fish & Chips, and the same owners as Sea House are actually in the kitchen still making their fish and chips.
According to the new owner (who hopes to make Noople Noodle into a franchise), they are still in "soft launch" and very open to feedback. Therefore expect tweaks to continue happening.
Standout features include under-$10 mains (e.g., Dan Dan noodles) and value for money with a filling amount of food, such as the Chicken Nugget and XiaoLongBao combo for $17.99).
Signature Fish and Chips (2 piece, $12.50)
- Nothing wrong here. Crispy on the outside, didn't feel oily, tender and juicy fillet.
- My friend's order. He felt it was decent but not the best he's ever had. Still, a safe order at an okay price.
Dan Dan Noodle ($7.99)
- Not sure what I was expecting here. I totally confused them with Kingyo's superb Tan Tan noodles so I think I gave the owner incorrect feedback here. Oops.
- The noodles sat on top of the sauce and once mixed the sauce did cling to the noodles very clearly and it wasn't a skimpy amount, but the sauce and condiments on top did not combine into flavor for unclear reasons. Mostly I tasted noodle here.
- They may start tweaking this sauce to make this better than it is. Currently, even at the price point, it's just flavourful enough to be on the menu.
Salty & Pepper Chicken Nuggets (normally $9.99?)
- Tender, juicy, and not oily when they were served.
- I was so pleased by how juicy this was that I forgot they were supposed to also be salty and peppery, which they weren't. Points off for that, unfortunately. But price point was good and as deep fried chicken goes, it was really decent.
XiaoLongBao (normally $9.99?)
- Decently done, soup is inside as expected, tastes good.
- Slightly smaller than some of the ones you can get at Crystal Mall, but the last time I had some there, they were soggy, the soup poured out, and my friends got diarrhea.
non-alcoholic Pineapple Beer ($2.99)
- Hard pass on this. Tasted like watered down pineapple juice with light fizz. Way overpriced for what it is although it's not excessively sweet compared to more commonly availble carbonated drinks.
Space is bright, spacious, and clean. Counter service, no waitstaff, and tipping not required but appreciated.
