Too Good To Go versus Panago

For a limited time, Panago Pizza has brought back a pretty good and filling under-$10 lunch deal:

• Pros
• For $4.99 ($5.24 after tax but no tip) it's quite a filling meal.
• The 8-inch pizza isn't round but square to snugly fit the box so you're getting slightly more than an 8-inch round.
• There's basically no edge crust to speak off, it's practically edge-to-edge toppings.
• Decent filling crust and also not skimpy on toppings.
• Prepared fresh (versus prepared ahead of time and sitting on the warmer)
• Cons
• 11am-3pm only.
• Walk-in only.
• Prepared fresh so be prepared to wait.
• Three flavours only - cheese, veggie, and pepperoni.
• Unsure
• The particular veggie one I got felt lit it was a bit light on the sauce though. Could be operator inexperience or shrinkflation. May or may not happen to you.

Even before this deal is gone, depending on how you normally eat pizza and how pick you are, there's been a cheap alternative for years: Too Good To Go.

This is not a pizza chain but a way to buy restaurant "leftovers". If you're organized and not too fussy about your food, you can get it really cheaply.

• An entire Large pizza for $6.99 or even $5.99
• No waiting: Generally you show up and pick up right away.
• If you buy a big pizza and eat it over a day or two, reheating a slice each time, you might not notice the difference.
• If you don't like pizza, To Good To Go has other types of stores registered. You can for example get a random assortment from Tim Hortons too.
• Cons
• It's not fresh. Very likely it's yesterday's leftovers from the pizza warmer.
• You can't choose what you get. You can expect a mix of whatever they had left, or half of it could be one flavour. If you don't want beef but you get a meat-lovers slice, too bad.
• It'll be cold so if you need to eat it right away that could be a problem. Feels like they pulled it out of the fridge and put it in a pizza box for you.
• You need the app. You prepay on the app. You or the person picking up has to show up with the app in hand and swipe it to verify collection of the item.
